Drink Straws

Some straws from the Drink in Uptown. I really could use some more outdoor shots. This just isn't my style.

What can I say?

What can I say that I haven't said before. How about that I don't feel safe in my own neighborhood. It's a sad story.

Snow Storm in March

I don't know how much snow we got today but it was a mess. I think we were getting 2 inches an hour. Good morning I guess?

Snow Day 1676

I been taking a lot of fence shots lately.

The only person I saw on a bike all day. I tried to get the biker while they crossed the center of the bridge. So close. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

"Been Through Wars"

Me: Will you sign my ball please?

Kirby: That’s the best you got?

What did he mean? I thought he was mad at me for approaching him the way I did. After all it was rude.

Me: frozen and speechless cause Kirby Puckett was actually mad at me.

He meant the ball. He was just giving me a hard time for handing him the worst looking ball to sign.

Kirby: This balls been through wars.

He smiled and turned the ball over to the side that still had seams intact. His smile was warm and kind. It was the same smile I’d seen in magazines, newspapers and on baseball cards so many times before. Then he signed it and handed it back to me. Just like that.

Me: Thanks a lot Kirby. Thanks a lot.

You da man Kirby. You da man. Rest In Peace.

Most Colorful Wall in Uptown

This is the most colorful wall in Uptown (that I know of). It's located between Chinos and Lunds. I've seen a lot of nice photos taken of this wall in the past. These are some of mine.

These photos were not taken in Uptown but at least they were taken near Uptown.

Waiting for the 6

I missed the bus that comes every 15 minutes. Guess I'll take a photo. It's hard to take photos at this intersection. Cars and people are always going by. Eventually there was a break.

Day 7 - Vail, Colorado (2)

First one's actually from Breck but the rest are from Vail. This is the last day I'll be posting out of state photos. Then it's back to Uptown Mpls.

Breckenridge 0566

It snowed at times and it was below zero on some parts of the mountain so I didn't shoot a whole lot the last day. Here's some I did take even though my hands were begging me not to.

Vail 0608

EXTREMELY stupid place to be taking pictures. Better move on.

Still EXTREME over here.

I've never enjoyed looking at other peoples airplane photos so this is just here to slow down your computer I guess.

Day 6 - Breckenridge, Colorado (2)

Back to Breck! Day 6 was also the day I started getting used to my camera. Photos are much better I think.

I don't know those people. I just know they had more energy than me. Yes, I had the guts. Just not the power. So I took a photo instead.

So where the bunny hill at?

Breckenridge 0512

Black and White anyone?

See those skiers in the image below? That’s where I’m supposed to be. That’s where my friends were moments ago. I should be up there on the “freeway”, traversing to the next bowl over. Not down here in the ruff. “Must traverse” I told my self. Hearing the word (traverse) in my head made me even more weak.

Could this be altitude sickness? I was at 12,000 feet a couple days ago and it didn’t bother me then. So why now? Was I dehydrated? Was this backpack full of apples, granola bars, and sandwiches enough to slow me down. I’ve gone snowboarding in the mountains many times, but this was the first time it ever got to me.

Where was my head? It didn’t feel apart of me. I decided to rest and lie down for a while. The incline was so steep this meant just leaning a little bit and I was lying down. I wanted to take a nap but I knew that meant I was passing out. My freshly waxed snowboard would have sent me tumbling down the mountain at a dangerous speed. I couldn’t pass out. So there I was. Resting and breathing, breathing and resting. I Never went this high again the rest of the trip. Just couldn’t hang.

Breckenridge BW 0520

So what did I do? I took some more photos.

Breckenridge 0516

The wind was trying to make me leave but I didn’t seem to mind that much. My mind was elsewhere. Elsewhere taking pictures I guess.

Yes, the Elph was on my side that day. Even though my head wasn't.

Day 5 - Resting in Frisco, Colorado

Didn't do much on day five. I was too tired to go riding. Here's some pictures I took of some bowling game. I don't remember where this place was. Somewhere in Colorado.

Bit out of focus.

Day 4 - Vail, Colorado

I think Vail had something like 300 inches at this point in the year. Looks like a dangerous job. Not fun.
