Ha! My philosophy teacher in high school used to have one of those !
I don't know how they are seen over at your place, but in Europe they are really bringing out the image of old German hippies...

It would say "get me outta here before someone backs into me". Parking can be chaos on Fremont.

In the US they are seen the same way but instead of "German Hippie" I think "California Hippie". You can't drive these type of vehicles year round in Minnesota. Once Winter comes the VW vans must head South or they get parked in a garage until Spring rolls around. So seeing one this nice around here is rather uncommon.
