Free Speech
If you live in Uptown, you never really know what to expect when you step out the door. That's what I love about this place.
There was a protest over the weekend and even though I missed most of the action, I was able to snap some photos and document what was left. I know what you're thinking. Another protest in Uptown? What? Really? Go on...
This protest was different though. This protest had a twist...
It wasn't until I crossed the street that I realized the Brave New Workshop had made some signs of their own...
It seems the First Amendment was in full swing that day.

Victoria's Secret
Uptown keeps changing. The corner of Lake and Hennepin looks way different with a Victoria's Secret, especially at night...

Uptown Transit Station
Reflections in a puddle underneath the Uptown Transit Station...
I accidentally bumped my ISO to 1600 while adjusting settings. That's what I love about Canon. ISO 1600 and it still looks beautiful.

Polar Bear Plunge 2008
I went to Lake Calhoun on Saturday to check out the second annual Polar Bear Plunge. It's an ongoing benefit spanning several lakes to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota...
Minneapolis Mayor, R.T. Rybak (left), gets ready to take the plunge...
And they're off...
The plungers were made up of teams. This group was dressed like SNL characters. Very nice...
The Roller Girls were there too...
Can you say style points...
I think this girl was actually smiling...
Don't forget the Jameson (right)...
Brrr...
So cold...
Batman seems confident about a first place plunge...
Dressed for success (middle)...
Are you cold yet? How about now...
The water was 4 feet deep so there was always a helping hand waiting to pull people out...
Brrr. That's all I have to say. Brrrrrrrr...
