This is a photoblog of Uptown Minneapolis. Centered at Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue in South Minneapolis, Uptown is one truly unusual high energy commercial district. Below are some photos I’ve taken and some observations I’ve made about Uptown Minneapolis and the surrounding area.

I love the happy face!
So much better than the unhappy face seen in the middle of this post.
who is this that feels like expressing themselves on the recycle bins? Hmm...
One day I was taking photos downtown with a bunch of other local photogs and one of them spotted a graffiti artist in action. I think it was the same person responsible for this and many other stencils around town. Part of me wanted to cross the street, go down a hill, and meet this person because I actually like a lot of their work but another part of me resisted because that would take away from the mystery of who it was. In the end I decided not to find out. Here's a link to another piece by the same artist (at least I think its the same person).
wow.. I like the whole underground art community out there.. I will have to keep my eye out for more of that stuff around here. We are hopefully going to take some shots Saturday night maybe in Hollywood or downtown Chinatown area. Should be fun.
Goodness, there is a lot of worthwhile info in this post!
